Stockport woman charged with murder after ‘walking into cop station and claiming to have killed and buried soldier dad in garden’
A WOMAN has been charged with the murder of a man in Stockport after walking into a police station and confessing to burying him in the backyard.
Barbara Coombes, 63, was charged with murder, preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body, fraud by false representation and obtaining a pecuniary advantage.
She remains in custody and is due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 11 January 2018.
It comes after she presented herself at Cheadle Heath Police Station on Sunday and disclosed that she had killed a man a number of years ago.
An investigation was launched and on Tuesday 9 January 2018, officers searching a property in Reddish found the body of a man.
